To access this
feature, click on the "SCREEN ODDS"
button on the top menu bar. A new window should then open, with odds
displayed in a non-refreshing Java screen format.
Guide to features:
-Odds changes are indicated by
the odds box being highlighted in Yellow. Use the toggle box on the far
right to select the frequency of the screen being "cleared down". For
example, with 1 minute selected, all indicated odds changes will
be cleared from the screen every minute, for 12 hours all odds
changes will be visible for a 12 hour period.
Consequently, you can toggle between the time settings to display all odds
changes in the selected time period. Therefore selecting 30 minutes shows all
recorded odds changes in last 30 minute period in yellow (hold cursor above for
exact time and price change history), 6 hours will show all odds changes in last
6 hour period, 12 hours all odds changes in last 12 hour period.
-To remove a match from view, click on the star " * " to the far left.
-To rearrange matches on screen, simply
click on match and hold down mouse button, and drag match up/down.
-"Add screen" - click on this to
open a new JS screen underneath an existing one. This allows you to
monitor several leagues/odds types simultaneously. Click on the star *
to remove matches, click and drag to rearrange screen.
-Toggle between the various drop down
screens to select odds type, league and odds format.
-TIP-EX PRO subscribers can customise and store all
screen settings (bookmakers, odds types, sports, leagues etc), which can be
selected using toggle function.
A:The "Sure Wins" section can be accessed from Menu 2 on the Odds Comparison main page.
-Menu2 - Tick the "sure wins" box in the left column, then type in the minimum return required in the "min ret" box. For example, a minimum return of
1.02 will request sure wins of 2% return and over. Select dates and match groups as desired, then click the "Send" button in the top left hand corner to generate currently available "sure wins".
Please note: "Sure wins"
are generated automatically by our system, and we do not check each
individual sure win, so please use as a reference only. Some times sure wins are
the result of bookmakers posting "incorrect" odds, which are picked up
by our system, or there is an error in the collection process. Please be sure to
check each bookmaker's rules for particular leagues, minimum requirements etc.
Tip-Ex accepts no responsibility for any so-called "sure wins" posted
as a result of an odds search of our database.
-TIP-EX PRO subscribers also get a Live Sure Wins
screen. This is a java based application which shows all current Sure Wins, and
updates in line with odds changes recorded in the database. This screen allows
you to select bookmakers to be included in Sure Win calculations, and also
allows you to monitor Arbitrage Changes.
For the bookmaker selection, there is also the possibility to specify
"conditional" bookmakers, namely bookmakers which must be included for Sure Wins
to be displayed. For example, selecting Ladbrokes as a conditional bookmaker
against all listed "market" bookmakers, will only return sure win situations
where Ladbrokes is included.
The
Advanced Options menu gives you a number of alternatives to customise the odds
comparison service, and also gives easy access to a number of powerful features.
Here is a list with a brief description of the various menus, and the functions
which they perform:
1.) "Settings"
This feature enables you to customise your odds comparison settings for
future visits. Please note, that cookies must therefore be enabled in order for
your settings to be stored.
-Odds format: Odds can be displayed as Euro/decimal (1.20/120), in
moneyline format (-500), as fractionals (1/5), or even as percentages (83). Tick

page, odds are shown by default as moneyline format - this can be changed to the
format of your choice by using the Settings function.
-vs/at: This enables you to set preference for team presentation. For
example, US-style presentation favours Team A at Team B, whereas the European
format lists the home team first.
-Style: Provides 2 alternatives for the "look" of the odds
comparison representation and layout.
-OC
Settings: Stands for "Odds Comparison settings". Tick off the
various selections if you wish the odds comparison results to also display any
of the following as default - Odds Changes, Sure Wins and Starting
Odds. The "Hide live odds" function switches off updates to
the odds comparison in the case of bookmakers providing live odds on
matches.

you have made the default settings which you would like to apply, click on Update
Settings and these should now be stored for future visits.
2.) "MENU 2".
To make description here easier to follow, please
click
here "menu 2" to appear in a new window.
This
is by far the most powerful and customisable feature of the odds comparison
database. Amongst other things, it allows you to customise which bookmakers'
odds which you would like displayed, plus the ability to search by league, date
and groups. There is also a feature to personalise your criteria, so that these
are stored for subsequent visits. Here is a brief explanation to the various
features found on Menu2:
Column #1 (Left):
-Odds type - use the drop down menu to toggle between the odds
formats.
-Odds format - choose whether to display in Euro/decimal, moneyline,
fracional or percentage format.
-vs/at - European or US-style match presentation.
-Type. Tick the box for the type of search which you wish to make.
-"Odds comparison" provides the standard up-to date odds
comparison format
-"Odds" shows odds, with subsequent changes.
-"Avg / bo" = "Average / Best Odds"
-"Sure Wins" - see above for explanation how to use this.
-"Top"
-"Best Top"
-"Odds Changes"
Column #2
-Books - Tick off which bookmakers' odds you would like included in your
search.
"Neg" = of books selected, "Clear" = clear all selections.
Column #3
-Avg = "Average". Tick off list of bookmakers' odds which you
would like included in order to generate average odds for your selection
(average odds will be shown above the top of the odds comparison results).
Column #4
-Groups. Tick off the leagues or events for which you would like to
compare odds. Please note that the groups displayed in this column are dependent
on the "odds type" selected (column #1), plus also the "date"
range of your selection (column #5).
Column
#5
-Sort. This function enable you to select display of results by date
or group (for example, if you have selected several groups which take
place over several days, and you would like the matches displayed on a day-by
day basis, or sorted by their grouping).
-Week (yyyy). This feature is used for generating files for historical
odds. Please see below for an explanation on how to generate these.
-Drop down date selection boxes. Use these to select the date range of
your search. N.B, the default set as the same day's events. To select further
ahead, use the lower date range selection box.
-Min ret = "Minimum return". Used when making searches for
"Sure Wins" - see above for explanation as to how to use this
function. 1.05 = minimum return of 5%.
3.)
"MENU 3"
This provides a quick access interface for individual bookmakers' odds, top
odds and .txt format comparisons.
4.) "MENU 4"
This allows you to search the database for odds by week / year / team name /
sport and league. For example, entering:
week (year): 12 2003
team/player: %inter%
main group: fb%
group: %serie%
will return any matches for a team name which includes "inter", in
week 12 2003, category football, group/league "serie". The match Udinese
- Inter matches this category, click on match to retrieve odds for this
match.
5.) "CHANGES 2" gives cumulative details on odds movements for the
week's matches. You can sort the list by "total changes", meaning that
match which has experienced most odds changes will be listed at the top, or by
"changes up" or "changes down". These changes refer to
movement on the home team - "changes up" therefore refer to the home
team's odds being lengthened (e.g. from 1.80 to 1.90), "changes down"
refer to odds on the home team being cut (e,g. from 2.00 to 1.90). The
cumulative changes apply for 3-way odds only.
6.) "NEW OFFERS" displays the latest match offers added to each
bookmaker's list, and the time that they have been picked up by Tip-Ex. Use the
drop down menu in top left to view the newest offers added by each bookmaker
separately.
A: By using Menu 2, type in the date range you are after in the designated "date" box on the right hand side.
For example, to view history odds between 1st and 10th October 2006, enter 2006-10-01,2006-10-10
in the date field, then click outside the box, and the choice of odds and bookmakers from that week will become available.
*Please note that the historical odds feature is
restricted to Tip-Ex Pro only.
