Golf - Wales Open. The Roman Road course in the host course for the third year, and it is really not worthy of a full blown European Tour event. A Short par 69 track, it would never be on the European PGA roster but for the fact that the ‘resort’ will host the Ryder Cup in 2010. While the real course is being tweaked, the Wales Open has to be played on this second rate track. 5 points Fredrick Andersson Hed to beat Robert Jan Derksen @ 4/5 with Paddy Power. lost 5 points This looks a very close match up, but Andersson Hed is just playing that bit better right now. He has won the last 4 H2H’s in 2007 and on this ‘pitch and putt course’ his very strong all round game and great putting should see his winning record over Derksen continuing. 5 points Simon Khan to beat Anthony Wall @ 10/11 with SportingOdds. won 4.54 points Wall is not in good form, having missed his last two cuts but he has great course form with back to back top 15 finishes. Last year he came into this event in very good form and I suggest it worth taking him on this week, simply on the fact he is not playing that well at present. Khan has won 6 of the 8 H2H’s in 2007 and is playing steady golf.. 5 points Richard Sterne to beat Anders Hansen @ 10/11 with Ladbrokes. won 4.54 points Last weeks PGA winner may be suffering from mental let down after his unexpected win at Wentworth. His form going into the event was far from good, but his course form (past winner) was perhaps the deciding factor. Sterne is in a rich vein of form as six top 5 finishes from his last 7 events testifies. |
