BellSouth Classic.

0.5 point e/w Charles Warren @ 80/1 generally available.

If Charles was good putter he may already have won his first full tour event, but he looks like a winner in waiting. He is playing quite well (back to back top 20 finishes) and he was 10th here last year. He hits the ball a long way and has good GIR stats. He has three Nationwide victories to his credit and in field with no great quality in depth he may land his first win in the big league.

0.5 point e/w John Rollins @ 50.00 with Unibet.

Rollins is in great form with two top 5 finishes already in 2006 and 8th in the Players last week. He has played the course well in the past, 5th in 2002 and 6th in 2003. He has missed the cut for the last two years but he is in much better form this time round.

Algarve Open de Portugal.

0.5 point e/w Francois Delamontagne @ 125/1 with Sportingodds, Bet365

lost 1 point

Delamontange is one of the longest drivers in Europe and that might help on this very short course. Accuracy is rewarded but he will make short work of some of the holes on this course and that was proved by his 16th place finish here in 2004. He started with a poor 1st round of 74 but was 12 under for the final 3 rounds and that was as better than most of the top finishers. His current form is reasonable with 2 top 20’s in his 5 outings. Francois is one of those players who looks like he could post a surprise this season and in an event with a less than stellar cast list, this presents him with a reasonable opportunity.

6 points Nick Dougherty to beat Niclas Fasth @ 5/6 with VCbet, Stan James, BetDirect, Bet365.

lost 6 points

Dougherty is 3-0 (and 1 tie) up on Fasth in 2006 and his stroke average over the last 8 weeks is 1.86 shots lower. The Swede was 17th in Maderia last week but that was in an even weaker field (co-sanctioned with the Challenge Tour) than this. He is still struggling with his game while Dougherty has had 5 top 10’s in his last 5 events.

6 points Francesco Molinari to beat Simon Dyson @ 10/11 with Bet365

lost 6 points

Dyson won in Indonesia 3 weeks ago but he is a much better player in Asian than in Europe. His form in Europe is not as impressive and in Spain/Portugal it is very ordinary indeed. Molinari is a player on an upward curve, there are a few good players coming out of Italy now and they are pushing each other along. His last three events have seen form figures of 6/8/15, and he is undoubtedly in the form of his life. He is an accurate iron player which is important at Le Meridien, while Dyson is a little erratic of the tees and not very good at finding the greens either (154th for GIR in 2005).
