This event is played over 2 courses for the first 2 rounds. The South course is by far the more difficult at 7568 yards and is played for  the final 2 rounds. The North course plays over 3 shots easier and is 6874 yards long. Surprisingly it doesn't seem to favour the long hitters much but the accurate drivers are at a disadvantage. The South course will be used for the 2008 US Open making the field stronger than usual. Greens are of bentgrass and quite undulating and difficult.
