The Players Championship.
TPC Sawgrass, Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
This tournament is known as the 5th Major and is
very popular with the players as the course is a
good test of golf. The rough is long, making driving
accuracy important and giving no advantage to the
long hitters. In fact, at no time in the last six
years taking the field as a whole, have long hitters
been favoured. As it is a difficult course it goes
to form, making it a good event for match betting.
It's easy to see that the shorter hitters do well
here when you find that Fred Funk won this in
2005.

Evens Choi v
Kim 8 units
lost 8 units
KJ Choi is in excellent form at the moment. Although
he hasn't played for three weeks on the PGA Tour,
that's because he has been in his native country of
South Korea where he won the SK Telecom Open. He
managed an amazing seventeen top 25s last year with
two tournament wins.
Anthony Kim has just won his first tournament and as
he is only 23 he may find it difficult to keep his
concentration this week. He has only played the
course once when he missed the cut last year. Choi
has a 10-4 head to head advantage over Kim in the
last 12 months.

10/11 Ames v Romero
7 units
won 6.36 units
This course favours the shorter hitters like Stephen
Ames who won this event in 2006. Andres Romero is
relatively new to the PGA Tour having played only
three times in 2007. He is a long hitter which is no
advantage on this course which he has not played
before.

Goggin v JB Holmes 5

lost 5 units
Matthew Goggin has
been very consistent in his last four tournaments
0,-,50,20,-,17,19,17 and finished 12th at Sawgrass
last year. JB Holmes is a very long driver which
is no help on this course. In 2007 he made only 12
of 24 cuts and trails Goggin 9-6 in head to heads
over the last twelve months.
