The key factor this weekend is the weather and the low track temperatures. The dry but cloudy conditions mean the track is only 30 degrees and both tyre makers have come here with rubber designed for 50 degrees+. As a result both Michelin and Bridgestones are graining very badly, with Bridgestone very good on their first lap (very good for qualifying) but Michelins a little better on longer runs. Ferrari is coping better than the other Bridgestone runners, of course. Schumacher looks nailed on for pole…..but as I type he has been hauled before the stewards for overtaking under a red flag track. If the stewards are consistent he should get at least a 1 second per Q session. As a result betting on pole outright is pointless until a decision is made. One small bet to be made. 3 points Monteiro to out qualify Albers @ evens with Stan James. Won 3 points Albers is 8-4 up in Q H2H’s but in this mornings session Monteiro was over 2 seconds faster. |
