World Drivers Championship 2006.

It might look a bit early for betting on next years Champion, but today’s news that the FIA have re-introduced tyre changes during the race for 2006 is a very big boost to Bridgestone. We all know that Bernie and Max are Ferrari fans and are keen to see them back in the mix for race wins, so this change was no great surprise.

Bridgestone simply failed to adapt to making a tyre last from qualifying to the end of the race. Their compounds and constructions have always been better over shorter sprint distances, and now they can get back to normal and keep on shoving new boots on Schumacher's car 2 or 3 times during the race.

With the tyres being the single most important part of an F1 car (only a tiny patch of Rubber is in charge of communicating the potential of the car to planet earth) this should mean that Schumacher and Ferrari will be back in the game. He was 3rd this season, and that was in a no win situation. Next year, so long as he is still motivated and Ferrari can deliver a decent car, he will be competing for the title. You well be able to lay off before the season starts.

2 points e/w M. Schumacher to win the 2006 Drivers title @ 5/1 with Bet365.
